Don't Pass Up on Eco Camp This Passover

The sun is out, flowers are in bloom, and it’s a great time of year for kids to be outdoors.  And if they’re going to be outdoors anyway, why not give them the gift of environmental appreciation?  Don’t pass up on the great eco camp offered by Yevulim Community Ecological Farm this Passover.

Located in Kfar Mellel (between Kfar Saba and Hod Hasharon), Yevulim is offering this camp to children between the ages of 5 and 10 from April 13th-17th.  The activities aim to connect children to nature in a number of ways, as well as teach them how to protect the environment.

Among the activities offered are an arts and crafts center (that uses natural resources in creative ways), carpentry, cooking, theater, and a small petting zoo.  The children also learn how to plant, how to prepare soil and beds, and how to water plants.

There are activities for grownups at Yevulim too, though.  Yevulim offers permaculture courses, farming days, and a workshop called “Secrets of the Ecological Garden” year-long.

Why does eczema so often begin in childhood and how can we prevent it?

The first years of life may represent a critical window when environmental exposures: dust, mold, indoor allergens, pollutants, microplastics, all shape immune trajectories in lasting ways. If scientists can find safe ways to calm this early-life immune pathway, it may be possible to prevent allergic disease before it spreads from the skin to the lungs or gut.
